Hi, I’m Jackie—proud owner of Barks n Meows right here in Hamburg!
I’ve been a professional pet groomer since 2001, starting my journey in New Jersey before returning to my Western New York roots in 2003. Over the years, I’ve earned multiple certifications in continued grooming education, including senior pet care, behavior, Golden Retriever grooming, vaccines, and sanitation practices. I’m also CPR certified for pets—your furry friends are always in safe hands with me!
My husband Jeff and I have moved 12 times in 30 years, living in Syracuse, Lockport, Massachusetts, and New Jersey before finally settling down in Hamburg, where we’ve found our happy place.
Together, we have two wonderful kids, Travis and Lyora, and a full house of pets: two dogs (a Frenchie and a Pekingese) and three cats (a Domestic, a Persian, and an Exotic Persian). At one point, we even had eight cats and three dogs—yes, it was as crazy as it sounds!
Faith is at the heart of everything we do. Our family attends Southtown Christian Center, and our faith is the foundation of Barks n Meows as we serve our community with love, integrity, and care.
Owning Barks n Meows is a dream come true, and I’m grateful every day to provide heartfelt care for your pets. I look forward to continuing to serve this community and caring for all the wagging tails and purring friends that walk through our doors!

If you’ve ever wondered who’s behind those fabulous dog makeovers at Barks n Meows, it’s none other than Dominique!
Dominique’s journey into the world of grooming started with her love for animals (seriously, she’s always been the go-to animal whisperer!). She completed the ABC Grooming Course and honed her skills during an externship right here at Barks n Meows, getting hands-on experience with our four-legged clientele. To top it off, Dominique is certified in Pet CPR because your dog’s safety is always her top priority.
When she’s not making pups look and feel their best, you’ll probably find her kicking around a soccer ball or spending time with her 4 dogs, 4 cats, 40+ chickens, and horses (yes, you read that right!). And fun fact: she’s ambidextrous, which might explain why her grooming skills are twice as amazing!
Dominique’s passion for animals runs deep—she treats every dog that comes through our doors like they’re her own. Her calm, caring nature not only wins over the pets but also our human clients. Whether it’s a nervous pup’s first groom or a routine spa day, Dominique has a special touch that puts everyone at ease.
